Setting up your email on a mobile device

If you would like to receive email for your domain-based email from a mobile device such as a cell phone or tablet, you will need to setup the mail account on your mobile device and input the correct settings. In this tutorial, we will provide you with the correct settings, and the basic steps to add your mail to your mobile device.

Account Type: IMAP
Incoming mail server: mail.mindzplay.com
User Name: account email address (something like name@yourdomain.com)
Password: account password (you should have a mail account password that was sent to you when your domain was activated)
Login using Secure password Authentication: No
Port: 993
Encryption: SSL

Outgoing Server: mail.mindzplay.com
User Name: account email address (something like name@yourdomain.com)
Password: account password (you should have a mail account password that was sent to you when your domain was activated)
Note for iPhone users: Username and password settings are required. Please disregard the word "optional" beside this setting on your iPhone. To send mail, you must have a username and password in your outgoing server settings.
Port: 587
Encryption: None

Note: There are many email apps available, and not every app will follow the same procedures as below. If you are having problems, you may want to contact the provider of your mobile device for assistance in properly entering the settings above.

To add an account to your mobile device, open your email app and add a new account.

  1. First, enter your email address and password.
  2. Next, choose the type of email account you wish to add. Your mindZplay email should be added as an IMAP account.
  3. Now enter all of your incoming settings. Some settings may auto populate at this stage. You will want to correct these automatic settings if they do not match with the settings above. Be sure that you check that the port number is set correctly.
  4. Once you have entered your incoming settings, you will need to enter your outgoing settings as well. Be sure that you check that the port number is set correctly.

Also, please note that the incoming and outgoing ports and security settings are different.
  5. After entering all of your settings, your phone should perform a test to be sure all of your settings have been entered correctly.

Note: Even if it does perform a successful test, it is recommend that you try sending a test message to another account you own.
